It was 80 years ago that I.L. and Mary Frances Stanley arrived on our campus in Greeneville, Tennessee with a young lady by the name of Trula Gunter.  Miss Trula would be the first young person cared for by Free Will Baptist Family Ministries.

Many things have changed over the past eight decades at Family Ministries, but our mission has remained the same:  to serve young people and families, pointing them to a saving knowledge of Jesus.

For our 80 year anniversary, we challenged 80 churches and individuals who have never given to our ministry, to pray about giving to our Mother’s Day offering this year. We thank all those who participated in this special contribution to take a stand for the unborn, for abused and neglected children and for the elderly.

.

Our goal was $100,000, and we are happy to share that our Mother’s Day offering came in at $126,839.91, thanks to 73 churches from 12 states: AR, FL, KS, KY, MO, NC, OH, OK, SC, TN, VA, WV and a host of individual donors, many participating for the first time.

Testimony

I was there for 64 day starting from January 20, 2014 as a resident in DCS custody. I did not like it that much while I was there but after I got out I realized how much better it was than alot of group homes. It is a friendlier environment with great staff. We did have fun there, more than I realized while I was there. It was not that enjoyable while I was there because I was away from my home and family by force but now since I am out, I have truly realized what it has done for me and other people. It has gotten alot of teens boys to Christ by far while I was there. I really hope people will donate more stuff there because there was not much to do but it was not all that bad.
