When  you pull up to the four Young Children’s Homes at Chaffee Crossing, in Fort Smith, AR, playground equipment is at the end of the cul-de-sac and houses decorated with floral wreaths hanging on the doors welcome one and all.  It feels like home….

Added to this ideal setting is a new activity center, dedicated on Tuesday, September 25, built, in part, thanks to a major donation from Wallace & Jama Fowler in honor of Mrs. Fowler’s parents. The Curtis & Celia Massey Center features a room for families to connect with children, office space for case workers, an activity room that can be used for tutoring, recreation, staff training and conferences.  The center also has general space with a food pantry, freezer and clothes closet.

Thank you to all those who played a role in this special project – you’ve shared of  your time, you’ve shared of your talent and you’ve shared your resources – and you’ve shared it for our most vulnerable population of abused and neglected children.

Testimony

I arrived in June 1973, and it was here that I was first exposed to church and where I first heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior and was baptized in June 1974. I found a solid Christian foundation, strong morals, encouragement, discipline and trained to have a good work ethic and be responsible and accountable. This, along with the love and compassion of the people of this ministry, shaped my character and contributed to the man I am today.
